She also had a chance to play with Char Levitt and Nadine Grenier on Friday night before going to bed and they had a blast together. She sucks in the carrots and then spits the carrots out of her mouth - very funny stuff. Jessica starting eating lentils with brown rice this week and loved the combination - best food situation yet. Jessica is still cutting her tooth - nothing fully through yet. Jessica likes to play on her new bedspread (chenille) with Daddy before going to bed.

Friday was the worst day for Mommy and Jessica since she was learning to breast feed because of her teething discomfort and also having contracted a cold. Jessica discovers the cabinets in Mommy's bathroom this week and moves between the two and opens each one over and over again daily.

Friday night, all Western Baggotts (minus Aunt Tracy who had to leave San Francisco on Thursday afternoon) went to dinner at the Albright's house. Mommy calls Daddy at work to roust him to come home and Jessica says "Hi Dada" into the phone in front of everyone. Daddy is very impressed. Jessica got to stay up until 9:00 pm! Saturday morning, Jessica got another ride in the backpack and this time had Daddy carry her. She really liked it again. Saturday evening, Ada Mae Albright was born. All the Western Baggotts rush over to meet the new baby around 6:30 pm and Jessica hardly pays attention to Ada. Saturday, Uncle Nick and Aunt Tracy arrive in San Francisco to try to be here for Aunt Kate's impending birth. All Western Baggotts convene at Duncan for Chinese food. This week Jessica tries Granny Smith apples and doesn't like them as much as the Gala apples she started herself on a couple weeks ago! She also gets to try apple juice and apple sauce. She really prefers the Gala apple slices the best.
11-18-01: Sunday, Sue Marston visited Duncan and Pop Pop and Nana with Zachary's pizza from the East Bay. Monday, Nana and Pop Pop took Jessica and Mommy antiquing in Sebastapol. Jessica got a new chenille bedspread and antique embroidered pillow cases for her Hanukah present from Nana and Pop Pop. Pop Pop also bought Jessica a dreidel and she found it delicious. Mommy put it in Jessica's jewelry box for next year's celebration when eating it won't be the main attraction. Tuesday, Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Pop Pop and Jessica all had lunch at All You Kneed in the Haight. Jessica climbed onto the table from by first getting one foot onto Mommy's lap. Very clever since she couldn't get her knee up onto the table without that extra boost. Wednesday , Daddy, Mommy, Nana, Pop Pop and Jessica all went to lunch at Einstein's Cafe. In the afternoon, Mommy and Nana went shopping while Jessica stayed with Pop Pop and Daddy. Wednesday evening, Uncle Judd arrived and we had Sushi for dinner in Noe Valley. Jessica, Daddy, Pop Pop and Uncle Judd all walked down to Glen Park and met Mommy and Nana at the restaurant. Jessica loved the walk! Grandma Baggott arrived in San Francisco on Friday, but Jessica didn't get the opportunity to see her until the Baggott Thanksgiving celebration at Duncan on Saturday night. Everyone (except Mommy) weighed in before and after the meal. Jessica played with Lucy until she couldn't stay up any longer and collapsed in her crib from exhaustion.
11-11-01: Sunday, all Western Baggotts got together at the Albright's house for dinner to send off Uncle Nick. Jessica ate Gala apples for the first time, by stealing one from Aunt Kate while she was trying to get Lucy to eat an apple piece while reading a book to both girls. Monday, Jessica was watched by Aunt Kate and Lucy while Mommy had a doctor's appointment. 11-4-01: Monday, Jessica and Mommy went to Houston's with Chuck Gutro for lunch. Jessica went to Dr. Schwanke in the afternoon for round of shots and well baby visit. She took an anemia test and was borderline anemic. Jessica dropped to the 25th percentile on the weight and height scales. Dr. Schwanke said that it is a normal reading based on his patients who are breastfed and more active from 9 months to 15 months. He provided us with a list of iron rich foods for Jessica to start and prescribed an infant multi-vitamin that included iron. Tuesday, Jessica went to the library with Madeline Hoft Rafa and Kristen Rafa for song and book hour. Wednesday, Jessica and Mommy met up with Lee, Tree, Nicholas, and Sophie Cooper and Madeline and Kristen Hoft Rafa at Golden Gate Park. Jessica enjoyed playing in the sand at the park. Kristen, Madeline, Mommy and Jessica had a sushi lunch to celebrate Kristen's birthday after playing in the park. Thursday, Jessica had lunch with Uncle Matt B. and Aunt Erin at the Window. Uncle Matt introduces Jessica to playing with ice cubes. She loved that activity so much, that Uncle Matt barely got an opportunity to eat. Friday, Jessica and Mommy met Chris Rucker for lunch at Cafe Ethiopia. Jessica left Daddy a voicemail at work. Listen to it by clicking here. Uncle Nick arrived in town Friday night for a weekend visit. Jessica slept in Mommy and Daddy's room in a pack-n-play that the Coopers lent us. She does very well for two nights, sleeping through most of the night on her regular schedule. Saturday, Chris Rucker, Michael and Mo, Uncle Nick, Uncle Dan, Mommy, Daddy and Jessica all hung out at Duncan for dinner. This week, Jessica climbed up one stair and then successfully climbed three stairs a couple days later. Jessica also started eating lentil beans this week. 11-1-01: 8 week appointment, blob to the right in ultrasound is the yolk sack, not a detached head
10-28-01: Sunday, Jessica, Mommy and Sue drove back from LA. Wednesday was Halloween and we had a party at Duncan. Jessica, Madeline Hoft Rafa and Lucy Albright all went trick or treating on Duncan and visited with six of the neighbors. Jessica and Madeline were pumpkins and Lucy was a butterfly. All the other guests arrived after trick or treating for a pot luck dinner. Nicholas and Sophie Cooper showed up too and Sophie was also dressed as a pumpkin. All the kids played upstairs in Jessica's bedroom with Mike Rafa, who was the Great Pumpkin - he was wearing an orange fleece! Lisa Ohashi babysat Jessica (she was sleeping) while Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Matt B., Aunt Erin, and Sue Marston all went down to the Castro to walk around. Thursday, Mommy, Daddy and Jessica visited Dr. Hamilton for the first time to see the new baby. Jessica cried when Dr. Hamilton came into the examination room and Mommy told Dr. Hamilton that Jessica must recognize him from the night she was born. Jessica continued to cry as Dr. Hamilton showed the new baby on the ultrasound screen and Dr. Hamilton told Jessica that she had something to cry about because he was showing her competition on screen. We all celebrated with Indian food after the appointment. Friday, Jessica and Mommy spent the afternoon with Chuck Gutro running errands and then had Berkeley and Michele Barnett over for dinner.
10-21-01: Sunday, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy all participated in Race for the Cure in Golden Gate Park with Susan Marston, Madeline and Kristen Hoft Rafa, Cindy and Grady Lynch, and Ben, Liz, Nicholas and Olivia Treynor. Friday, Mommy, Jessica and Sue went to Palm Springs for Sue to give a presentation at a conference. Saturday, Mommy, Uncle Judd, Sue, and Jessica had lunch at a local Ethiopian Restaurant and met some of Uncle Judd's friends. Jessica started sweet potatoes this week. She liked ice cube sweet potatoes better than mashed up sweet potatoes.
10-14-01: Sunday, Jessica had her first trip to the beach. It was very warm in San Francisco and Daddy, Mommy and Jessica went to play on the coast. Jessica had a great time tasting the sand and playing with Daddy at water's edge. When it was time to leave, Daddy and Jessica took an unexpected dunk in the ocean while trying to get some sand off their bodies. Jessica handled the dunking like a pro (as did Mommy who missed the entire incident,) but Daddy looked a little shaken up. Monday, Jessica had her first taste of food - an avocado. She also had a rash on her face by the end of her afternoon nap. The rash was determined via her doctor and by Mom Baggott, to be nothing more than a skin irritation. Jessica went to Cafe Ethiopia with Chuck Gutro and Luke White for lunch. She played with the owner during the entire lunch and had a great time. Tuesday, Jessica went to a story and song program at the public library with Madeline and Kristen Hoft Rafa and had a blast watching and playing with the other kids. We all went to the playground after the library program, but the weather was kind of nasty so only stayed to play in the swings. Aunt Erin and Ed de Maar came over for Tuesday night Buffy, dinner and a movie and Jessica woke up at 11:30 pm to see Aunt Erin before she left. Wednesday, Jessica had some more avocado. Thursday, Jessica met Michael Morretti for the first time and had Michael and Chuck Gutro over for lunch. Jessica also had an unexpected trip to the doctor's office due to the rash on her face, the pulling of the ears, and general fussiness. Mommy thought there might have been an ear infection, but it was a slight cold and some eczema! Friday, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy babysat for Nicholas and Olivia Treynor and Mom and Dad did a pretty good job with all three kids (ages 2. 5 - 1 month old.) Jessica even took a brief nap in Olivia's crib that night! Saturday, Jessica had her third serving of avocado and then ran to the store with Daddy while Mommy stayed at home. New tricks this week included laughing at Mommy when she says "no," laughing for a long time when Nicholas Treynor danced around her, making Mommy and Daddy laugh too, and flapping her arms like "wings" when she wants to be picked up.
10-7-01: Sunday, Daddy and Jessica took a walk down to 24th Street with Uncle Dan. She screamed in excitement when walking back up the street to see Mommy on the sidewalk waiting for her. Monday, Lisa Ohashi came over to Duncan to cook and to play with Jessica. Chuck Gutro joined for dinner. Tuesday, Ed de Maar came over for dinner. Uncle Matt B. and Aunt Erin showed up for Buffy. Wednesday, Jessica and Mommy met Aunt Dorie Behrstock for lunch in Berkeley. It was a neat Indian restaurant, but Jessica got a little bit cranky toward the end of the visit. Thursday, Jessica and Mommy went down to Mountain View to visit with Berkeley Barnett and Paul Gordon at their offices. Jessica had fun roaming around on their carpeting and also on their patio while Mommy and her friends visited. Thursday evening, Sue Marston, Jessica and Mommy went to Cafe Ethiopia for dinner. Jessica was not in the mood to play with the owner during the meal as she normally does because it was so close to her bedtime. Friday, Jessica, Mommy, Kristen and Madeline Hoft Rafa all went estate sale shopping and Jessica had a great time until it was time to go home. She was tired and needed her nap. Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, Jessica and Uncle Dan met all the other SF Baggotts at Golden Gate Park for a picnic for Aunt Kate and Uncle Matt B.'s birthdays. It was a beautiful day for a picnic and Jessica took a nice long walk with Daddy around the park before leaving. We all went back to the Albright's house for cake and ice cream. New tricks this week included playing a little rough with Lucy, letting Lucy hold her without pulling Lucy's hair, finding the VCR and opening and closing the VCR cabinet door repeatedly.
9-30-01:Sunday, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy went to the East Bay to hang with the Marstons. Monday, Jessica, Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Matt A. all went for sushi lunch in San Mateo. Tuesday, Ed de Maar came up to the city and went to Marina Pet Hospital with Jessica and Mommy. He stayed for dinner and Chuck Gutro, Aunt Erin, Uncle Matt B., and Uncle Dan joined us at Duncan to all watch the season premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Wednesday and Thursday, Jessica, Chuck Gutro and Mommy ran errands together in the afternoon. Friday, Jessica, Mommy, Sue Marston, Chris Rucker, and Farhat Quli went to dim sum for lunch. Saturday, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy went over to Aunt Kate and Uncle Matt A.'s house to babysit Lucy for an hour or so. We all went to the park and Lucy played on the swings the entire time with Aunt Amy holding her hand, while Jessica and Daddy played on the slide and the playground equipment. It was Jessica's first time down the slide and slid down to Mommy all by herself! That evening, Mommy and Daddy had another date. Chuck Gutro babysat for Jessica, but she was asleep by the time he arrived and she didn't wake up until the next morning, so she never really knew that she was babysat. New tricks this week included standing up at the refrigerator to pull down magnets and moving from the refrigerator to the garbage can. In fact, Jessica was pulling on the garbage bag edge that was pulled over the side of the garbage can, when the garbage can fell over. As it fell over, it pulled Jessica on to the side of the can that was facing up on her stomach. A very funny sight. Jessica can take some steps around a piece of furniture while holding onto it and can also open the door to the television cabinet. She can sing along with the rhythm for the "wheels on the bus" song with Daddy. She crawls over to the guitar and bass in the living room daily to play with them.
9-23-01: Sunday, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, Uncle Judd, Uncle Dan, Mommy and Daddy and Jessica all went to Tyger's for breakfast. Jessica, Mommy and Daddy dropped Uncle Judd off at the airport and picked up a pizza from Zachary's for dinner and Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, Bree, Uncle Dan, Mommy and Daddy all had pizza for dinner at Duncan. Monday, Uncle Dan stayed home from work and Mommy, Jessica and Uncle Dan went to the mall together. Uncle Dan played with Jessica a great deal that day and Jessica loved it! Tuesday, Ed de Maar came up for the afternoon and dinner. Wednesday morning, Jessica and Mommy met Uncle Nick and Aunt Tracy at Savor for breakfast. Wednesday lunch Jessica and Mommy went to Cafe Ethiopia with Chuck Gutro. Jessica played with the owner while Chuck and Mommy ate, which is one of Jessica's favorite things about going to Ethiopian! Wednesday night, Jessica had Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick over for home-made pizza dinner. Thursday night Jessica and Mommy went to Luke White's house for a visit. Friday, Jessica and Mommy went downtown via BART with Aunt Tracy and then had a family dinner for Uncle Nick and Aunt Tracy at Duncan with all the west coast Baggotts to say their final good-byes. Saturday, Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick left for Arizona and in the morning Jessica, Mommy and Daddy went over to their house to help them do last minute things before they left. Saturday afternoon, Jessica had her first trip to the Zoo with Aunt Kate, Uncle Matt, Lucy, and Daddy. New tricks this week included successful crawling movement across the floor and standing up at the dishwasher when it is open (trying to grab plates and utensils.) Jessica is also on a sleeping schedule which has her sleeping from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am without needing Mommy during the night! She takes two naps now, one in the morning and one in the early afternoon.
9-16-01: Monday, Mommy and Jessica drove down and met Daddy for lunch! It was a great time because we walked to lunch and Jessica saw her first train (the CalTrain.) Monday night was Rosh Hashonnah and Mommy, Daddy and Jessica went to Richard and Ami Gerstein's house in Belvedere for dinner. Jessica had a great time playing with the kids that were there and the neat toys that the Gerstein boys had. Tuesday, Ed de Maar came up to the city for the afternoon and for dinner. Wednesday night Jessica, Mommy and Daddy helped Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick pack up their kitchen. Friday, Uncle Judd arrived for a weekend visit to say good-bye to Nick and Tracy before their move to Scottsdale. Jessica and Mommy started the day in the morning by taking Kristen and Madeline Hoft Rafa for a shopping trip in the East Bay with Sue Marston. Everyone went to pick up Uncle Judd in Oakland and we all went to Zachary's pizza for lunch, where Jessica sat in her highchair and still managed to snag Uncle Judd's plate from him and pull it into her lap when we weren't looking. Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick joined Daddy, Jessica, Uncle Judd and Daddy at Duncan for dinner. Saturday, Duncan had a going away party for Uncle Nick, Aunt Tracy and Bree. Jessica had a great time with the other kids at the party and went to sleep as the party raged on! New tricks this week included Jessica waving "hi" to everyone on the street and clapping hands and saying "Yeah!" after crawling across the floor.
9-9-01: Sunday, Jessica threw a party for her neighbors and was very social throughout the party. After the party, during Jessica's afternoon nap, she somehow managed to fall out of the full sized bed with the guardrail attached. She slept in her crib for every nap and all night from that point onward. She made a seamless transition. Monday, Jessica and Mommy picked up Chuck Gutro from work for a lunch date at Cafe Ethiopia - which was as wonderful as always. Jessica had a chance to spend some time with the owner, Tsegie too. Tuesday, Jessica, Mommy, Uncle Dan, Aunt Kate, Uncle Matt A. and Lucy all huddled at Duncan due to the national tragedy at the Pentagon and the World Trade Center Towers. Jessica crawled across the kitchen floor with Aunt Kate and Daddy watching. Wednesday was also very quiet due to the breaking news. Around 3:30 pm, Jessica went up to her crib for her afternoon nap. She cried for 10 minutes at which time Mommy went upstairs and gave her nummies for 10 more minutes. Mommy put her back down in her crib at 3:50 pm. Mommy could hear her crying on and off for about 20 minutes and when she went back upstairs to get her again, Jessica was standing in her crib, next to the baby monitor, fake crying into it. When Mommy walked into the room and saw the situation, she burst out laughing and Jessica laughed too. It was so funny that we both kept laughing down the stairs back into the living room. Jessica is so clever! Thursday, Jessica invited Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick over for dinner. Aunt Tracy brought a friend from work, Kristina and we all had a wonderful meal made entirely from Food and Wine magazine. Jessica and Kristina became friends quickly. Friday night, Aunt Tracy came over to Duncan at 7:00 pm for the national candlelighting/solidarity effort. Jessica hung out on the front porch with Becky and Jeanette (neighbors) until Chris Rucker showed up to join the solidarity circle. Mommy made dinner for Aunt Tracy, Chris, Uncle Nick, Uncle Dan and Daddy. Saturday was a quiet day again because Daddy and Uncle Dan had to work all day, so Jessica played with Mommy most of the day and then turned in early for the night. The best new trick this week was being able to move from sitting position and lying on her stomach and back to a sitting position. Jessica can also move from sitting position to crawling position quite easily. Jessica can get to things that she wants across the floor, but it takes a couple of crawling steps plus some stomach work still. Jessica also got a fake cell phone that looks just like Mommy's phone this week at the grocery store. It has a recorded message that plays when you push the buttons and also the keypad makes noises when depressed which she loves. Jessica now laughs out loud if you say "Hi!" and wave back when she waves at you.
9-2-01: Sunday, Jessica and Mommy met up with Suzy Hwang's Dad for lunch at Avanti's and then went to dinner at Herb and Carolyn Weinstein's house with Nana and Pop Pop Monoson and the Walvoords. Lisa and Ron Hirshhorn were there with their daughter Deborah. Jessica met Judy Peelle Tilley, the Ulmans, and Leslie Weinstein as well. The entire gang went to Lakeview Museum for an outdoor concert and Jessica met back up with Suzy, Gail and Gabrielle. Monday, Jessica, Mommy, Gail, Gabrielle and Suzy went to lunch down on the riverfront before Suzy left to head back up to Schaumburg. Gail and Gabrielle made Jessica and Mommy a special dinner at their house. Tuesday, Jessica and Mommy flew back to California and Jessica was awake for the entire trip from Chicago to San Francisco on a very full flight. She got to walk around with a couple of flight attendants and also had her diaper changed on the floor of the airplane in the back and met many passengers. All of our neighbors on the flight said how well behaved she was! Jessica and Mommy dropped Daddy back at work after he picked us up at the airport and went home and both slept from 5:30 pm until 6:30 am the next morning. Jessica woke up 3 times during the night for a quick nummies session and then right back to sleep for both Mommy and Jessica. Wednesday morning, Mommy and Jessica woke Daddy up at 6:30 am and we all took a walk down to Tigers for breakfast. Wednesday afternoon, Jessica and Mommy went to pick up Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick from the airport and then they came over to Duncan for dinner. Thursday night, Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Dan all went to see the band Cake at the Warfield while Jessica got to spend the evening with Uncle Matt B. and Aunt Erin babysitting. Mommy left 5 ounces of milk for Jessica in a bottle and Jessica drank most of it before going to bed. Aunt Erin took Jessica outside when she got a little fussy and all was better again. They had a very good time and Jessica went to sleep in Aunt Erin's arms at around 9:30 pm and slept in her crib until about 11:30 pm. Jessica slept in the full sized bed in her room with a bed rail attached this week. She was getting nummies during the night until Friday night when she woke one time and went back to sleep without nursing. Friday during the day, Mommy and Jessica hung out with Sue Marston in Lafayette and had a great time just relaxing. Saturday night, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy all went to the Treynor's house in Redwood City for dinner and to hang out before Liz and Ben had their second baby (due in a week.) Jessica played with Nicholas Treynor and had a great time.
8-26-01: Jessica took a trip on Tuesday to Peoria, IL. She was a star once again on the flight and slept for most of the flight to Chicago and then again on the flight to Peoria. She stayed overnight with Gail and Gabrielle Healy. She visited Gabrielle's school, Peoria Academy and then went home to play with Gabrielle for the rest of the evening. Wednesday, Mommy and Jessica visited Gail at work at Bergners, went to Peoria Academy to pick up Gabrielle and then went to Bloomington for dinner with Colleen, Delaney, McKenna and Greg Davis. Jessica and Mommy stayed in Bloomington and Gail and Gabrielle went home to Peoria. Mommy and Jessica made chile rellenos for the Davis' on Thursday and ran a couple of errands during the day. Thursday evening, Suzy Hwang showed up to spend the weekend with us. Friday, the girls all went shopping during the day and then we all went to Colleen's sister's house for dinner. There were many kids at the BBQ and Jessica had a good time. Saturday, Suzy drove Jessica and Mommy back to Peoria to visit with Suzy's Mom, Nana and Pop Pop Monoson, Barb and Dave Walvoord, and then Saturday night, Jessica had Agatucci's pizza and went out to Canton for a fish fry with all of Mommy's buddies. It was a very full day, but very fun! New tricks this week included the beginning stages of crawling on her knees and making a clicking noise with her tongue.
8-19-01: Sunday, Jessica went to the Beach Chalet brew pub for lunch with Mark Viglianco, Aunt Tracy, Mommy and Daddy. She went out to the beach and ocean after lunch with Daddy. Everyone tried to help Mommy to do a plaster mold of her feet after lunch, but the effort was unsuccessful. Everyone but Jessica had a very good laugh. Tuesday, Jessica and Mommy went to Costco with Ed de Maar and treated him to early birthday lunch at Denny's. Jessica sat in her highchair through the entire meal like a big girl. Tuesday night, Uncle Matt A. came by and made Duncan house vegetarian chili, which was delicious. Sue Marston also joined everyone for dinner at Duncan. Wednesday, Chuck Gutro came by for an early evening visit. Uncle Matt A. joined in for dinner and later on that evening, Mommy and Daddy instituted a new bedtime ritual with Jessica which included nummies, a song (we would prefer to read a book, but Jessica insists on eating the book and won't allow us to continue with the story - we hope this habit subsides soon) and an infant massage. Jessica didn't like the massage very much that first night, but has enjoyed it more and more every night. Mommy and Daddy have been trading off putting Jessica to bed with the new ritual which is working out well. Jessica now sleeps in her own room and doesn't need nummies all night long. Thursday, Jessica and Mommy went to Houston's Restaurant for lunch with Aunt Tracy. Jessica got to visit Uncle Dan's before lunch. Thursday night Jessica slept the entire night without needing help from Mommy to get back to sleep after waking once for 30 seconds. Mommy didn't sleep very well though because she checked on Jessica several times during the night out of habit. Friday, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy went to dinner to celebrate Gentry Stanley's birthday. Jessica was very tired during dinner and Mommy and Daddy decided that she has passed the stage/age of being taken out for a late dinner (8:00 pm) because she can no longer sleep in public places. She is very distracted by noises now. Friday night was a real setback in the bedtime ritual/sleeping situation. Due to her not getting to sleep at a decent hour, she (and Mommy!) had a horrible night Friday with night waking every two hours or so. Saturday, Jessica met Aunt Erin's Mommy and friend, Tomar the Judge, along with Uncle Matt and Uncle Dan for breakfast at Savor in our neighborhood. Jessica did fall asleep during this mid-morning meal at the restaurant after having some breakfast herself. During the afternoon, Mommy and Jessica attended Liz Treynor's baby shower and had a very fun time with the other children. Saturday night, Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick babysat Jessica for the first time while Mommy and Daddy had their first date since Jessica was born. They went out for dinner and came home in time to put Jessica to sleep with her bedtime ritual and then watched a movie with Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick. Jessica slept very well Saturday night and was back on track with all her new sleeping accomplishments by sleeping through the night without waking once (she was exhausted!) New tricks this week included pulling herself to the standing position on her changing table, moving from the sitting position to her stomach via a position that can only be described as half crawl, half squat, habitually sticking out her tongue (especially when you stick your tongue out at her), and she gave Uncle Dan her first kiss on Thursday at his office. He was very surprised!
8-12-01: Jessica, Mommy and Daddy had dinner with Michele and Berkeley Barnett in Oakland on Sunday night. We had Zachary's pizza and Sweet Inspirations for dessert and a good time was had by all! Tuesday, Ed de Maar came up for the afternoon and we made dinner together. Uncle Matt A came over for dinner as well. Wednesday, Jessica and Mommy went down to Palo Alto to pick up Daddy's guitar from the repair shop and we had lunch with Daddy and Uncle Matt A. Chuck Gutro stopped by Wednesday night to spend some time with Jessica before his dinner date. It was our first time meeting Niles and Jessica really had a great time and was very interested in the tiny baby. Saturday night, Jessica attended her second of Aunt Erin's performances. She actually saw Aunt Erin dance this time and watched her pieces in between nummies. Jessica was very interested in the bright clothing and classical music and squawked out loud once out of sheer excitement. After Aunt Erin's piece, Mommy and Jessica left the performance early (due to the squawking which would have continued had we stayed) and went to Aunt Erin and Uncle Matt B's house for a party. Jessica fell asleep until about 11:15 pm when she woke to find the entire apartment full of people. She cried, but hung on until Aunt Erin blew out her candles on the homemade birthday cake that Uncle Matt made for her. It was delicious and we all headed home right afterwards for a good night sleep.
8-5-01: Jessica said goodbye to her favorite animal when Miracle was put to sleep on Sunday morning. Miracle was the only animal that Jessica was allowed to come in contact with and they loved each other very much. She tried to cheer Mommy and Daddy up with three new tricks on Sunday - stuck her tongue out very far mimicking Mommy and Daddy, learned to pull her diaper tab open (dangerous!), and drank water out of a squirt bottle (subsequently out of a baby bottle and also a sippy cup.) Tuesday, Ed de Maar came up and took Jessica and Mommy out to sushi lunch and then we went home to make pizzas for dinner. Ed, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, Uncle Dan, Mommy and Daddy all had pizza at Duncan and then played poker. Thursday, Jessica invited the new neighbors over to dinner along with the neighbor across the street to talk about the upcoming date before the City Planning Commission the following week. That same day, Jessica fell out of Mommy's bed after a nap. Jessica was fine, but Mommy was quite shaken. Friday, Jessica, Mommy and Daddy went down to Cupertino for dinner with friends Vivek and Farzaneh Rau. Saturday, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick and Uncle Dan had dinner at Duncan with Jessica before Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick went to Yosemite on vacation. Jessica also had her first cold by Saturday, which started with some hoarseness on Wednesday and Thursday and developed into a tiny cough and runny nose on Friday. Didn't bother her much though. New tricks this week included "scootching" on the floor at Aunt Kate's house, imitating part of Daddy's monkey call, and standing holding onto things.

Jessica met Nick Falzone and exhibited stranger anxiety for the first time. Jessica ended up going over to Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick's house with Mommy and Daddy to watch "Casablanca", but fell asleep immediately when the movie started. New tricks this week included crying when taking a toy away (or what she believes is a toy - hair, keys, remote control, phone, etc.,) squirming and climbing all over Daddy when in his arms, and object permanence (hiding an object from her view does not make her forget about it.)
7-8-01: Jessica had a fussy week - difficulty sleeping through the night, nursing 4 times a night (usually only nurses once at around 4:30 am.) Every morning we looked for a tooth thinking that this fussiness was from teething, but no teeth yet. She also started croaking with her voice this week. Sunday, Jessica went to Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick's house for breakfast and a long nap. Tuesday, she went to a La Leche League meeting with Aunt Kate and Lucy. Jessica then invited people over to Duncan to watch fireworks, but it was again foggy in the city for the fireworks display. Jessica started squeaking this week when frustrated. She also cries when you take what she considers a "toy" away from her. Mostly that means Mommy's hair, plastic bags, and paper. Jessica typed at the computer with George on Friday morning for the first time. Click here to see what she typed. Saturday, Daddy, Mommy and Jessica went to the Marston's house for a BBQ to see Craig Kim, George's friend from college.
6-24-01: Sunday, Uncle Judd, Mommy and Daddy broke off from Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, Chris Rucker, and Lisa Ohashi from the King's Canyon camping trip and toured Sequoia National Park for the day. Monday, Miracle came home from the vet hospital and Jessica and Mommy were at the vet for 4.5 hours that day with Jerry and Miracle. Tuesday, Jessica had Ed de Maar over for Tuesday club and his Dad, Dr. de Maar was visiting too. Mommy made chicken matzo ball soup from the chicken that Uncle Nick made on the camping trip and had Sue Marston, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, the de Maars over for a soup dinner. Friday, Mommy and Chris Rucker went to the OzzFest concert and Jessica stayed home with Daddy. Not only did she drink her breastmilk from a bottle for Daddy, but she held her own bottle! What a big girl! Jessica found her toes this week and likes to touch them when laying on her back. She has even managed to get them into her mouth once or twice. She can fully push her torso off the bed or floor when on her stomach.
6-17-01: Jessica had a great week. She started the week with Father's Day/Daddy's birthday/Uncle Matt Albright's birthday celebration at Duncan. Monday night, Jessica had Uncle Matt, Aunt Erin, and Pauline Yu over to dinner. Mommy cooked out of the cookbook she received from them as a present for the holidays. After dinner, the entire Baggott clan and Jessica's first cousins once removed (Ratner clan) came over for dessert - Molly and Dorothy McNamara, George and Nick Dietz, and George's girlfriend Jamie. It was the first time that Jessica had met all of these cousins except for Nick Dietz, whom she met in Chicago. They were visiting San Francisco on their cross country train trip. We celebrated George's birthday for a second night with another special dessert. Tuesday, Jessica joined Mommy and Daddy and all of Daddy's friends out at Buca di Beppo in San Francisco for another birthday celebration. She slept through most of the meal. Over the weekend, Jessica went on her first camping trip and her first 9+ mile hike in King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks - what a star! She slept very well in the tent between Mommy and Daddy in their new zip together sleeping bags and was mesmerized by the campfire. Jessica sat up by herself for the first time at Aunt Kate's house on Tuesday and also started reaching for Mommy from Uncle Dan's and Daddy's arms.
6-10-01: Sunday, Jessica, Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Dan went out to Pt. Reyes for breakfast and a long hike. Monday, Jessica met her second cousin once removed (Rosenthal clan) Rochelle Estrella and her boyfriend Bryan for lunch. Jessica and Mommy spent a great deal of time this week seeing our sick cat, Miracle, at the vet's office. She is the star of the office and her arrivals are greatly anticipated and met with much attention. Jessica also met Nadine Granier and Char Levitt over dinner at Duncan on Tuesday. Thursday, Jessica went with Mommy to the dentist's office for Mommy's teeth cleaning. She sat in her car seat next to Mommy the whole time and was perfectly content. Jessica met Vivek and Farzaneh Rau over dinner at Duncan on Friday night. Saturday, Jessica took Daddy to the South Bay with Uncle Nick, Aunt Tracy and Uncle Dan to get "skins" for Unreal Tournament computer game. Now, Daddy, Uncle Dan and Uncle Nick can play the game with Jessica and their own faces on characters within the game. That was Jessica's Father's Day gift for Daddy. She also took Daddy et al on a hike and out for lunch and dinner all in the South Bay. Jessica's new trick this week was crossing her eyes!
6-3-01: Jessica started the week by finishing up her visit in Little Rock. She visited Pop Pop's office for lunch on Monday and left Little Rock on Tuesday for a two leg plane trip. She weathered both legs beautifully with a little fussiness in the airport in between flights. The first leg was a very short flight (less than an hour) with the second leg clocking in at three hours. She slept during most of the second flight, but was awake for most of the first. She was excited to be home and to see Daddy upon arrival. Jessica had a difficult time getting back to her "before trip normal" schedule. Wednesday she spent a little time with the Marstons after we picked them up from the airport from their Italian vacation. Saturday she ended the week with a dinner party at Duncan with Liz, Ben and Nicholas Treynor.
5-27-01: Jessica continued to meet her relatives in Chicago. Sunday she was invited over to Aunt Ruth and Uncle Lynn Shuster's house for a brunch in her honor. She met Todd and Kendra and also meets Ann and Art Fox. She spent time with Nonny, Aunt Allie Behrstock, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jerry Zisook, too. Sunday evening she met the Garfinkle cousins, Aunt Sandy and Uncle Charles Incorvia, and saw Susie Hwang again. Monday she met Great Aunt Lillian Paul, Great Aunt Sydelle Prebish, and then went to a BBQ at Uncle Mike and Aunt Lisa Monoson's house for Memorial Day. Jessica and Mommy took a nap and missed most of the party! On Tuesday, Jessica and Mommy left Nonny's house at 5:45 am with Pop Pop and Nana to drive to Arkansas. Jessica slept 5.5 hours in the first stretch of the trip - all the way to Southern Illinois! She ate when the grown ups ate and then was back in the car for another hour of sleeping. Jessica awoke for more food and then went back to sleep for most of the rest of the trip! Little Rock was fairly quiet for Mommy and Jessica, with a lunchtime visit to Nana's office and mostly hanging out at Nana and Pop Pop's house. Saturday night Nana and Pop Pop threw a little get together at their house to meet their friends which was very fun. New tricks this week included rolling over consistently on her own and amusing herself on her new gymini toy.
5-20-01: Sunday, Duncan house threw a birthday party for Farhat Quli. Tuesday, Mommy and Jessica traveled on an airplane for the Jessica's first trip away from home. Jessica slept the entire trip. She woke up right before the landing and instead of nursing, decided to suck her thumb for landing. Wednesday, Jessica met Aunt Allie, Ruthie Shuster, Jerry Zisook, Nitza Zisook, and Miriam Zisook. Jessica watched the final episode of Star Trek Voyager with cousins Mike, Lisa and Megan Monoson. Thursday, Pop Pop and Nana Monoson arrived in Chicago and everyone had dinner with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jerry Zisook. Friday, Jessica dined with Aunt Jill and Uncle Ron Garfinke and Uncle Fred and Aunt Angie Goldboss. Saturday, Daddy arrived in Chicago for Memorial Day weekend and Mommy, Daddy, and Jessica went directly to Chicago for lunch with Dominga and Eduardo Sanchez, Aunt Helen and Uncle George Dietz, Nick Dietz, Rosa Sanchez and the Sanchez's friend Mary Kate. Jessica ended her first week of traveling with dinner at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jerry Zisook's where Aunt Allie joined the group for dinner too. Jessica became a star thumb sucker this week, rolled over on her own five times and can now grab things held in front of her.
5-13-01: This week started out by celebrating Mother's Day. Daddy and Jessica treated Mommy to a manicure and pedicure in the morning, followed by lunch at Mommy's favorite restaurant (Houston's) with Uncle Dan and finally a Baggott family dinner at Duncan. Jessica got Mommy an amethyst earring and necklace set (Amethyst is Jessica's birthstone.) Thursday, Jessica met Sally Peterson for a dim sum lunch at which she behaved like an angel and even fell asleep in her car seat as Mommy and Sally dined. Friday, Jessica and Mommy showed Mommy's second cousin-in-law, Ami Gerstein, around San Francisco's Marina district for window shopping and lunch. Jessica behaved beautifully again during the lunch date. Saturday, Mommy and Daddy had Kammy and Kowsik Guruswamy over for lunch at Duncan. Kammy was weeks away from giving birth to their first child and they enjoyed playing with baby Jessica. Jessica learned to suck her thumb this week, started babbling for long stretches, and started playing peek-a-boo.
5-6-01: Jessica realized this week that she had a tongue and she learned to stick it out at Mommy and Daddy. We laughed very hard at her new trick. Jessica went hiking with Uncle Nick and Aunt Tracy at San Bruno Mountain to start her week off. She fell asleep halfway through the hike while facing forward in her carrier. Uncle Dan made his famous calzones and we had another Baggott family scrabble game that same night. Mommy and Jessica had a fairly quiet week because Mommy had her first plugged milk duct and wanted to avoid an infection. Saturday afternoon, Uncle Dan watched Jessica for the first time that Mom and Dad were both away from baby. Mommy and Daddy attended an infant/child CPR and First Aid course. Jessica refused to take the bottle from Uncle Dan and the three hour session was a little touchy for them both. Daddy was able to give Jessica a little bit of the bottle when we returned, but Jessica just prefers nummies! Saturday night, Jessica attended her first modern dance performance to see Aunt Erin. She slept through most of the performance, but that allowed Mommy to see parts of it.
4-29-01: Jessica slept four nights over six hours in a row (and slept 9 hours on Thursday night,) but by Friday night, that trend had passed. Jessica went to a baby shower on Sunday and had a great time. Many ex-Versant people were there that Mommy and Daddy hadn't seen in a long time, so it was fun for them to meet Jessica. Wednesday night was an ex-EnterpriseLink dinner reunion and Mommy's old friends met Jessica. Thursday was lunch with Gentry Stanley and Chuck at the ramp and then Jessica and Mommy went to the airport to pick up Ed de Maar from his European vacation. Friday, Jessica spent the day with Sue Marston and then helped Dan Hanttula move. Saturday was the big Cinco de Mayo party at the Marstons where Jessica saw Madeline Hoft Rafa and had a great time being very social.
4-22-01: Jessica learned some new tricks this week. She drooled like crazy. She was vocalizing quite a bit and seemed to even try singing on Friday. She was grabbing for things this week, but not quite getting them. Her favorite book was Moo, Baa, La La La by Sandra Boynton (same author as Oh My, Oh My, Oh Dinosaur.) Jessica also sat up for a quick second until she realized that she wasn't being held and fell over. She went on a hike for Earth Day on Sunday with Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, Aunt Kate, Uncle Matt, cousin Lucy, Mommy and Daddy. She went out for Mexican after the hike. Monday, Jessica ran errands with Luke White and had sushi for lunch. Tuesday was breastfeeding club and some errands. Jessica hung out at home for the remainder of the week because Mommy wasn't feeling 100%. Saturday, Sue Marston, Chuck Gutro, Doug Gallaher, Chris Rucker, Bree Desmond and Farhat Quli came over to play at different times during the day. Some stayed for chile rellenos dinner. Jessica tried to see Aunt Erin's dance performance on Saturday night, but Mommy bought tickets for Friday night and even though the performance wasn't sold out when we three arrived, they wouldn't let us in to see the show! We went home and watched something on pay per view instead.
4-15-01: Jessica saw the doctor for her two month check up this week and weighed in at 12 pounds, 8 ounces. She was 23.5 inches and was in the 75% for weight, height and head circumference for her age group. The nurse said that her eyes are brown and she giggled at the nurse while being weighed. Dr. Schwanke said that she was ahead of her peers in getting her hands into her mouth and was "highly orally motivated!" He also said that she was one of the plumpest babies he had seen that day. She seemed to have red hair coming in at the roots of the darker hair. Daddy saw her sucking her thumb this week and she liked having books read to her daily. Her favorite was Oh my, Oh my, Oh Dinosaur. She laughed at the pictures. Jessica faced forward this week in her babybjorn carrier during the morning walks. Jessica also liked laying on her back on blankets on the floor. Jessica had many social events this week: She started the week out with Uncle Dan's birthday celebration/Easter at Aunt Kate and Uncle Matt's house with the entire Baggott family. She went to lunch with some of Mommy's old AMS buddies, she had lunch with Farhat and Lisa at Mom is Cooking, she had lunch with Daddy and Aunt Tracy on house refinancing day (and slept through the entire meal!), and went estate sale shopping with Aunt Kate and cousin Lucy, not to mention lunch with Uncle Matt. She rounded out the week with dinner in Tiburon with Mommy's second cousin Richard Gerstein and Aunt Helene/Uncle Bob Gerstein. She "initiated" Aunt Helene from both ends at dinner!
4-08-01: A very social week was had this week by young Jessica. Gail and Gabrielle Healy and Susan Hwang were in town for a vacation and to meet Jessica. Jessica visited Chinatown, Lombard Street, Ghiradelli Square, Twin Peaks, Picchetti Winery and Watsonville while showing everyone around. Mommy had many yummy meals during their vacation and Jessica wanted and had nummies at every meal out! Jessica stayed home with Daddy alone for the first time on Tuesday night while Mommy went out to dinner with her friends. Jessica had her first bottle in a couple of weeks that night and at first she refused to take the bottle from Daddy. She then got hungry enough to drink from the bottle. When Mommy came home, Daddy suggested that she give Jessica the rest of the bottle to not waste the milk, but Jessica wouldn't drink from a bottle when Mommy held her and wouldn't drink from the bottle if Daddy gave it to her while Mommy held her. Thursday, Luke White took Mommy and Jessica to the Cliff House for lunch. This was Lukie's first time meeting Jessica. Jessica had a sushi treat with Farhat on Friday. Friday night Dan Hanttula met Jessica over dinner at Duncan. Sue and Mike Marston had Mommy, Daddy and Jessica over for Easter dinner in Lafayette on Saturday.
4-01-01: Jessica went on her second hike to Castle Rock in the Santa Cruz mountains with Aunt Tracy, Uncle Nick, Aunt Kate, Uncle Matt, cousin Lucy and friend Ann Brady. She wanted to stop mid-hike to have nummies! Daddy took Jessica up to the top of some cool rocks for nummies. Jessica went to Dairy Queen for the first time after the hike. Jessica took her first shower with Daddy and loved it! Jessica and Mommy had lunch with Chuck Gutro, Lisa Ohashi and Doug Gallaher in trendy South of Market. Jessica and Mommy visited Sue Marston at her home in Lafayette and stayed for dinner.
3-25-01: Jessica went on her first hike to Golden Gate National Recreation Area with Uncle Dan, Daddy, and Mommy. Jessica slept for most of the time. Jessica slept 6 hours at night for the first time this week - but it was a fluke and not repeated for the remainder of the week. Jessica started loving her butterfly mobile over her crib and Mommy made the butterflies fly for Jessica after every diaper change. Jessica giggled out loud at the butterflies flying.
3-18-01: Jessica saw the doctor for her 6 week check up and weighed in at 10 pounds, 1 ounce. She was in the 50% for both height and weight and 49% for head circumference. The doctor used silver nitrate on her belly button because there was still a little suspicious bump and it turned the belly button all black. He also confirmed that the baby had no more visible signs of thrush and said that a simple vinegar rinse in her mouth or on the nipple before breastfeeding for the remainder of the week would be sufficient maintenance. Mommy was not pumping at all this week and Jessica was breastfeeding comfortably on demand (and she demanded a great deal!) Mommy and Daddy took walks in Noe Valley with Jessica during the week and on the weekend.
3-11-01: Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick had an engagement brunch at their house and Jessica and Uncle Judd were in attendance (Mommy and Daddy too!) Jessica started to smile responsively this week. Mommy and Jessica still had thrush and Mommy started taking an oral anti-fungal medication. Mommy was pumping very little this week and has put Jessica on the breast almost exclusively by the end of the week. The Baggott family got together at Duncan on Saturday night for a farewell to Grandma party, who left to return to Philadelphia the next day.
3-04-01: Great-Grandmother Nonny arrived on Sunday to spend the week with Jessica. Jessica went to Ethiopian for lunch and saw her friends Tsegie and Tesfai. Tuesday Mommy celebrated her birthday with lunch at Eric's Chinese restaurant with Nonny and Jessica. Dinner was Jessica, Mommy, Grandma, Nonny, Daddy and all Mommy's friends at Houston's. Jessica had five meals out at restaurants by the end of this week!! Mommy and Jessica were performing a very strict regimen for the treatment of the thrush throughout the week. Aunt Kate and cousin Lucy visited Duncan on Thursday for lunch and on Friday, Uncle Judd arrived for a weekend visit. Friday night, the family birthday celebration for Mommy was held at Duncan - fondue! Aunt Dorie Behrstock and Sue Marston joined the family celebration. Nonny left on Saturday and Judd, Mommy, Daddy and Jessica went to the Rafa's for dinner.
2-25-01: Jessica had her third weight check with the doctor and was 8 pounds, 1 ounce and gained all the weight with breastmilk. The nurse reconfirmed that she was not given formula supplements to increase her weight so substantially and said that her weight gain was "impressive." Tuesday after breastfeeding club, Jessica, Mommy and Grandma had their first lunch out at the Steelhead Brewing Company. Jessica slept through the entire meal. Mommy and Jessica worked on getting back to breastfeeding and slowly added time on the breast each day, starting with once on each side each day. Wednesday, Mommy had the most comfortable breastfeeding session ever and was very excited that she and Jessica had turned a corner. Grandma and Mommy went to the lactation consultant on Thursday for an assessment of the breastfeeding technique and then met Daddy and Uncle Matt Albright for a tour of E.Piphany and lunch at an Indian restaurant called Bombay Garden. By Saturday, Mommy had nipple pain again and realized that the whole time, she and Jessica had thrush! We did some serious internet research on what to do for thrush and started attacking it full force on Saturday. Jessica started showering with Mommy instead of taking baths because it is so much easier.
2-18-01: Jessica weighed in at her second appointment with the pediatrician at 7 pounds, 4 ounces. The doctors were concerned that Jessica wasn't gaining weight quickly enough. Dr. Jessica tried to convince Mommy and Daddy to supplement her feedings with soy formula. We attended our first breastfeeding support group meeting and the lactation consultant taught Mommy to use the breast pump to avoid supplementing with formula. We tracked her daily intake of breastmilk. She was averaging about 24 ounces every 24 hours for the remainder of the week. The amount is the daily intake of a 9 pound baby. Mommy gave her nipples a break and a chance to heal and Jessica had no problems getting the hang of drinking from a bottle. Sue Marston helped us out by spending the night a couple of nights and Chuck made us a meal (yum!) Daddy went back to work at the end of this week
2-7-01: Born February 7, 2001 at 1:40 am, weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces. Jessica was discharged from the hospital weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces. She came home to Duncan on Friday, February 9, and settled in quite nicely. She learned to breastfeed and had many visitors. Jessica weighed in at her first doctor appointment at 7 pounds 1 ounce. She and Mom were still trying to get breastfeeding down. Jessica's belly button stump has fallen off by the first appointment, but the doctor prescribes some topical ointment for the area which looks a little red to be applied for a couple of days. At the end of the first week Nana and Pop-Pop Monoson returned to Little Rock, while Grandma Baggott stayed behind to help Jessica, Mom, and Dad get through the next five weeks. Jessica treated Aunt Tracy to a birthday lunch on Valentine's Day and then Aunt Tracy and Uncle Nick got engaged at dinner that night. Jessica celebrated her first Valentines Day with Mom and Dad. Mom, Dad, and baby attended a private lactation consultation to try to get the breastfeeding technique perfected.
2-6-01: Amy cries when she is going to sleep because the room isn't "ready" George assures her it is fine for the new baby and all the small tasks can be taken care of after the baby arrives. Amy has a strong contraction that wakes her up at 3:00 am and then the contractions come every 7 minutes. Not much more sleep is had for the rest of the night. Amy and George head to Dr. Hamilton's office at 2:00 pm.
2-5-01: Amy has lunch at Houston's and then goes shopping with Ed de Maar. While in the Discovery Store, someone tries to shoplift and a loud buzzer goes off in the store and I have a very strong contraction. The contractions continue for the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening. I receive a call from Lisa Sullivan who I tell about these minor contractions and she asks if I have been timing them. I hadn't been, but once I do keep track I realize that they are fairly regular and I think I am in early labor. I call Dr. Hamilton about 10:00 pm and reach his service. The service patches me directly through to him and he tells me to have half a glass of wine and two glasses of water and sleep through the night. I call Mom and Dad Monoson in LR to tell them to get to SF the next morning (they were planning on flying out on Wednesday, 2-7-01 tthe due date) and calls Mom Baggott at Kate's to tell her the news. Judd and Tracy are also alerted.
2-4-01: Birthday party for Nick Baggott and Lucy Albright at Golden Gate Park. Amy is very tired and sits on a blanket for most of the day. She gets up to get food and to play frisbee with Nick once.
2-2-01: AFI and NST test at Mills-Peninsula Hospital
1-31-01: Dr. Hamilton visit
1-16-01: Dr. Hamilton visit
1-10-01: Dr. Hamilton visit
1-3-01: We have a midwife come to the house to provide us with birthing class information. Mom Baggott sits in on the class and Amy is very ill with a cold. George and Mom end up going to Amy and George's anniversary dinner at Chez Panis that night due to the fact that Amy is too sick. Amy also takes antibiotics prescribed by Dr. Hamilton for the cold and finds some relief immediately.
