Welcome Phoebe Baggott

6-8-02: Phoebe Baggott was born at 6:51 am, weighing in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches in length. Phoebe's birth as reported by Uncle Dan Baggott via a series of emails to Baggott East...

This just in.

Amy and George have left Duncan. Current whereabouts unknown. They
claimed to be going to the hospital.

We have no objective information regarding contractions. But Amy did tell
Judd to shut up during her last one.

Nick, Tracy, Judd, and Erin are all trying to nap. Jessica sleeps soundly.

Dan has developed ringworm. Photos to follow.

Local time is 12:46 AM. Partly cloudy, 54 degrees F, winds out of the west
at 16 mph. Humidity 72%.

1:32 am

The earlier claim that Amy and George were going to the hospital has been
confirmed by Tracy. They successfully checked in. George requested his
glasses be brought to him.

Tracy, Nick, Judd, Erin, and Matt are preparing to leave Duncan. First
stop: Matt's and Erin's place for their camera (and chocolate?).

Jessica continues to sleep soundly in blissful ignorance of rapidly
developing events. One wonders how long this can continue.

This just in, Judd is still sleeping and is not prepared to leave Duncan.
What does this mean? I don't know.

*****

The rumor (~6:51 am, 7 lbs and 11 oz) of Phoebe's birth have not been
exaggerated. Just got back from taking Jessica to visit her new little
sister and I can confirm the existence of said baby.

A very calm and tranquil baby was reportedly shot out into this world after
only two pushes. So calm (and limp) was the baby that some were
momentarily concerned the baby had shot clear out of Amy, into this world,
and then onto the next world. I'm happy to report that Phoebe is quite
alive (although still calm).

While I think the full impact of this event has not sunk in on Jessica, she
greeted her new little sister with a wave and was able to correctly
identify which individual in the room was "the baby."

Once again, Jessica is sleeping soundly.

Local time is 10:34 AM. Partly cloudy, 66 degrees F, winds out of the west
at 7 mph. Humidity 50%.
